About Yukari

Yukari Higurashi is a Japanese national who has lived in New Zealand for more than 30 years. She is fluent in Japanese and English, a Affiliate Member of the NZSTI (New Zealand Society for Interpreters and Translators), and is Interpreting Certified through Auckland University of Technology (AUT).

Yukari is a Registered Japanese Interpreter for Middlemore hospital and North Shore District Court since 2003.

She was encouraged by her (privately appointed) client to study accounting and taxation for the benefit of Japanese investors. She enrolled for a Bachelor of Accountancy in Massey University and has studied accounting, business law, taxation, and other business papers required by the NZICA (New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants). She was also appointed a tutoring position in Economics during her study at Massey University, and is still tutoring Economics and Finance at Massey University. She also teaches Economics to Japanese high school students in preparation for their NCEA examinations.
